Where ever you like, under the driver seat?

Under the passenger seat? My passenger seat has more space than my driver seat underneath. You could also try the trunk, the glovebox, or the console.

You will probably spend AT LEAST 2x what you initially budget for your CarPC Project!

If it doesn't fit under the seats, you don't want to cut the car up (so behind the dash is out) and as your car is tiny, then the trunk (or under the hatch) is the only place left isn't it?

    This is my setup:

The m2 atx, mb (mini itx) and hdd (2,5 inches), silabs fm radio, dvb-t receiver, odb2 interface are located in the rear of the monitor (a 16:9 7" monitor); gps antenna is inside the left rear-mirror, dvd player/burner is on the top of the central dome, the amplifier is located in the trunk together with a 6" amplified bazooka :-P

I have no wasted space in my car, no wires in the way, nothing under the seats, no cut of original parts because the central console and dome are copies (customized) of the original ones... Moreover I haven't lost my central air vents because I rebuilt these (a reduced version!) on the modified central console...

For my experience, this is the best setup applicable for this car if you want a car-pc because of simplicity in connections and accessibility of monitor. I tried a 7" monitor under the central dome (a oversized rebuilt version) but this was hard to reach while driving! It was really uncomfortable.
