03 Vibe GT install. Yet another.

After looking at other Vibe/Matrix owner installs on here, I'm finally going to start mine.

I picked up a new bezel at the dealer. $35. Looked on eBay and they wanted more than that for a used one. LOL So, I'm using the new on in the car until I fab up my original.

The monitor is a VM7200. I trimmed the bottom of the bezel off with a saw, then used a dremel to cut the top. Then welded them together with Perma Poxy plastic weld.

Heres the begining... As soon as I find the bumper repair stuff, I'll move on.

This is the only bumper repair stuff I could find anywhere locally. I'm assuming it will work, since it says it's for ABS plastic and is flexible.

Used the bumper repair and sanded it all down. Now I need to fill in the tiny air bubble craters. Is the best way to do this to fill them with tiny drops of the bumper repair? I really cant sand them out anymore without messing it up.

Did you epoxy/glue the lcd frame to the radio bezel before applying bumper repair? You should because bumper repair isn't mean to be use as adhensive. It will stick for now, but eventually will break apart as it isn't strong enough to hold the piece together.
As for filling the tiny air bubbles or pin hole, I use glazing and spot putty.

You can use this as they are the same with just smaller size.

Ah, ok. I read that in your supra thread and wondered.

As for attaching the LCD frame, yep. I used Perma Poxy plastic weld. Dont think it's coming out anytime soon. I even used it to fix the stand on my fan. Strong stuff! lol

This blows! After doing the bezel, I reinstalled the screen and turned it on. Came on for like 2 min. then went out. So, I unplugged it, opened it up and it started working. Put it back together, was running fine. Then I unplugged it for a second and when I plugged it back in, nothing. Now it just sits there.....blank...in a bezel. I have NO idea whats wrong with it. Tested the PS and it's fine.

    Any ideas anyone?

    Update

Got the screen working. For some reason, one of the power wires was soldered in the cable itself, and shrink tube put on it. It broke loose.

Now, my computer refuses to reconize the monitor! It says 'USB Device Not Reconized'. Just installed the new drivers three times and nothing. Anyone else have this trouble?
