# Thread: Tutorial - Steering Wheel Controls

1. lol i always reply to messages without completely reading. Its kool, no need to say sorry. your a busy guy and trust me i appreciate that your even taking the time to help me out.

Here is the IF logic you asked for:

<if fire_on="logic" minimum_delta_vote_time="5000" id="Mode Button">
<boolean_operation type="between ii">
<parameter1>
<number>4.6</number>
</parameter1>
<parameter2>
<analogue id="Steering Wheel Control" time="0"></analogue>
</parameter2>
<parameter3>
<number>4.8</number>
</parameter3>
</boolean_operation>
<then>
<do function="Send Key To Foreground" functionTargetID="Required Filler" vote_opinion="M" vote_priority="Medium"></do>
</then>
</if>

Also, could you make a simple calc for me using the 5v value? call me dumb but its a little confusion. Thank you once again

2. :/

3. Did you get that update that went out a few days ago?

4. Yes sir...

5. found the problem, ill post when I send out an update

6. Update is on the server. Try now.

7. As for the R value, use a 1K. That will give you 4.54v out at idle.

8. Awesome, i will try as soon as i get the chance.

calculated for 1.5 k and it was good. but i will redo calcs for 1k i think that will get me closer to the mark.

Thanks alot bro.

1.5k will be fine. It is just the range of values you get increases with the smaller resistor, but also the current it draws goes up. So a 1ohm resistor will give you very close to 5v at 10kohms, but you will blow up the FB because that is 5v/1ohm = 5A. So 5amp draw. 5/1000 = 5mA which is perfectly safe to pull from the Brain. 5/1500 = 3.3mA, so it is fine too, but your maximum value when idle will be 4.35v.

10. lol Another Question,,,,

How can i get the vote delay to reset once the voltage is released? Once i release the button the vote delay is still active until it expires. Is there any way that the vote delay can expire immediately after the voltage is released, this way if a person wants to repress the buttons at a faster rate it will send the key stroke each time the button is pressed even if still within the vote delay time?

Thank you,
