    Control fan speed with PWM and dependent on temp

    I thought I'd start a new topic for this.

    2K1 pointed to this as a solution for using PWM to control fan speed but could someone point me in the right direction to get the fan speed so it changes based on the ambient temperature in my computer case?

    Hardware wise, you can just hook it up directly. Power it off of the pins, and the ground is switched, modulating the speed.

    Programming wise:

    Software PWM:
    <iochannel id="Digital Output 0" port="15" brain="my fusion brain 0" type="digital_output">
    <defaults defaultstate="off"></defaults>
    <options mode="standard">
    <pulse duty_cycle="50" period="XX"></pulse>
    </options>
    </iochannel>

    Hardware PWM:
    <iochannel id="Digital Output 0" port="15" brain="my fusion brain 0" type="digital_output">
    <defaults defaultstate="off"></defaults>
    <options mode="pwm">
    <pulse duty_cycle="50" period="XX"></pulse>
    </options>
    </iochannel>

    Nevermind... I figured it out. I know that this is just my fan, but is there anyway to quiet the fan at all? It's very loud with a "chopping" like sound.

    Nevermind, I used a 10uF cap between + and - of the fan... Sorry I keep wasting peoples time
