digital is for switches, analog for everything else
As the title says, what type of sensor would take an analog or digital input. I see that there are only 4 digital inputs on the fusion brain, which I would take as a solid voltage in (5vdc I think it is?). What would an analog input be? resistance, varying voltage? Additionally, what would the outputs be classified as? I'm looking to get a brain to control a bank of relays for off-road lighting as well as do things like give me the inside and outside temperature, and control the lighting relays via a photosensor so the lights aren't turned on during the day. I'd also like to detect air pressures for the onboard air system I have and other things. I'm just so confused as to what the ins/outs expect for proper operation. Thanks...

Yes the Digital Inputs take in a 5vdc signal.
Voltage. Between 0vdc and 5vdc. Above 5vdc, magic smoke comes out of the Brain, and negative voltages I am not sure what happens, but I imagine it can't be good.
The outputs spit out the input voltage at 400mA to 500mA. So if you supply it with a 13.8v car system, then you will get 500mA output at 13.8vdc when the output is on, and you will get 0vdc when output is off. Directly it is only good as a signal source or like a few LEDs. But the main power comes from the relays we have that connect directly to the outputs, and then you can switch that 25A relay, which is the main use.
All very doable, and the relays we sell in the store would suit this perfectly as well as connect to the Brain by a simple header plug. They even have quick connect terminals on the relay side for easy installation.
I would check out the Dakota Digital 150psi Air Pressure Sensor thread for some ideas regarding that.
Hope that answers your questions, and sorry for the delay. Usually I get an email with all new threads but I must have missed this one. If you have more questions just ask.
