the spot i want to mount the knob is lacking space... do you think if i find a clear glass/plastic rod and attach it to the end with hot glue or something or the other...would that work? i may just need like an inch more length on the knob itself.. hmmm....

They make "shaft couplers". One example can be found in this datasheet: http://www.keyelco.com/pdfs/M60/M60p84.pdf

Mouser sells most of Keystone's products. It would be more solid than hot glue.

    So...

When do these go on actual sell? Since I managed to break mine Not sure what happened... I was actually installed in my center console (near a cup holder) when I noticed it had not powered on, I switched USB ports and noted it flickering -- thinking it was a USB hub issue took it out and ran inside to test against my main machine - with no light when plugged in there. Checked the usb connector to the device and watched the usb header fall off ... I'm pretty sure there wasn't a lot of strain on the usb cable that plugged into it - But I could be wrong.

That said, I would love another one (stands by with CC)

I think you provided slightly more data then what was asked for. Now that's good customer service.

    Hmm... Well that's not good.

I can send you a replacement no charge, just email me your address again so I know which knob goes where.

    http://www.aliexpress.com/product-fm..._5628473&vd=30

    Let's hope they work!

(they do look cheezey... but what do you expect at 44 cents a piece)
So I got my cheezey knobs in today -- but can't see how they look since I broke my Volume Control... However, as a quick look - here's what I noted:

    The Bad:

    1. cheap lightweight plastic - I have some aluminum knobs and you can tell the difference upon inspection
    2. Thier a bit short. to sit all the way to the base (where the "D" stops) it would need to be about 13mm talls. These are about 10 - 11mm tall.
    3. Long trip from China...

    The Good:

    1. No set screw, they fit perfectly on the D shaft
    2. Cool looking tops - see pictures from site, they should illuminate just fine
    3. cheap plastic isn't *too* cheap. In most installs, I don'ts see it being all that easy to notice.

I'll post pics later. And if anyone is interested in trying them out themselves, send me a message (I have a couple extra...)

So my screen is finally showing up this week hopefully so I've got the carputer running in the car this week. I haven't mounted the knob yet, I'm waiting for the screen to come in before I do that, but I just tried using the knob unmounted, it works great.

Still unsure how to mount it but functionally it works fine in my twenty minutes of testing so far. Will update once I have it mounted.
