I can't wait for these to be available. Much better than my current setup using a pot in between the rca's from my PC to my amp. I know these are already done but I maybe a suggestion for revision two.

I would love a jumper that would control the default state from Mute or Unmuted depending on the presence of 12v or not. Also be able to connect a remote wire from a terminal on the knob to your ACC or ignition. I have my PSU stay on for 15 for short stops, but my music is still playing. It would be nice if this could sense when the ACC goes low, checks jumper position, and mutes or unmutes depending on users config.

That would solve my last annoyance with my setup.

    Hi,

I don't think those would fit the "mission" of this, but they can be solved with a Fusion Brain. This does just volume control and in a way that you can still use the software buttons or this at the same time, without them getting out of sync. Like with your potentiometer, you can control the volume up and down on the PC, but it is always limited by the pot. Or you can control the volume by the pot, but you are limited by the PC. This gets around that.

As to having it mute when no ACC present, hook up a Fusion Brain with a resisitive divider input into one of the analogues. Then in software it is as simple as keep it in mute when the input is low, or so many seconds after low, or whatever you want really. It solves that problem separately but better.

Yea I have a fusion brain v6. Just seemed like a hassle to do all that just to mute the audio. I'll get the fusion brain out one of these days. Can't wait for the volume knob to be ready tho.

subscribed! great idea mate. i've found it fairly difficult to find obscure things like buttons or knobs, any sites you could refer me to in preperation for the grand release of your piece.

It depends what you are looking for. If you want it to blend in, then usually getting a replacement "volume knob" or something from your make/model and making it fit, makes it look more integrated. If you want something that doesn't fit in but looks cool, there are tons of knobs out there. I just dd a quick google on "1/4in shaft knobs" and lots of results came up.

I've googled that and i mostly just get back a bunch of things that look like they've come off of an easy bake. What kind of a world do we live in when a guy can't find a good knob when he wants.

Out of fab, and into assembly. They say it should be done in the next week. There were some parts supply issues. Everything is exciting in the world of manufacturing!
