They're here! I found a boo-boo, but it is simple to fix. Should be available soon. Currently I have it working with a bootloader so that it is USB upgradable. The current firmware has no illumination of the knob, but I hope in future version to make that configurable to any colour as well as change some parameters. But just plug it into a windows box, wait a couple seconds, and it works. No drivers needed.

Future software. The hardware is all there. I can make it glow, but currently I cannot get it to talk via USB with both the volume control and the setup interface. I can do either or, but Windows is barfing when I combine them.
So the glow isn't programmable currently. Therefore I have turned it off in the firmware. But all I need to do is get the firmware updated and everything works. It will be exactly the same as the FBv6, where you load the bootloader program, then get it into bootloader mode, flash the new firmware, unplug/replug, and it is new firmware. To get into bootloader mode, you hold the volume knob pushed in as you plug it in.

It is a problem in the USB descriptors. I have my driver working with the setup, and the default HID driver works with the volume control itself. However if you screw up 1bit in a few hundred bytes of USB descriptors, the device will not enumerate and show up as a problem device. This is where I am at currently. It is just a matter of finding my probable typo that I haven't been able to yet.
I've spoken with the MP3Car store, and they will have some of these shortly.
