:lol:Well this is likely to be the last graphics intensive post for a while, although showing it off helps keep me motivated and makes me look at it differently. I'll save it for larger groups. I've changed some things in the security interface, climate control and have started and aux lighting control page. Here's the truck model I'm going to use to show a functional block- systems type approach to interface. I will include very simple systems inside of the body such as engine, brakes, cooling, ac. This has been an interesting indoctrination to graphic art, it's kind of fun, but I wouldn't want to do it long term.
I'll post the first pic with maybe a chassis, an engine, and the cooling system to show what I'm imagining soon. So if the ccoolant temp gets too high, the system will go from its normal color to glowing red on the cruising and tuning pages. The same for all of the other systems that I include. Things like the gas tank will show its level, where it is, in the tank. No way this is getting done by december. Damn, I really wanted that 25$
I plan to make other vehicles for other people to use if they want them. They'll be just as simple though.
I am a big fan of the new temperature display with only red and only blue sections! Looks great!
You must have spent a lot of time on that truck!
Yeah I did spend a lot, but I think it was a wise investment, You'll laugh when you find out what my graphics editor for it was.
Yeah for the slider affect, the right bars will either appear or re-appear as seperate images in the 'control'. I think.
was it that google program or something?
I'm really liking the AC skin a lot. The red and blue looks very nice and would fit many autos out there.
I have finally had some time to start digging into the FB. It has sat here on my desk for quite some time.
Thanks, I'm pretty satisfied with it as well. I'm probably going to leave the design alone on that page, and move on to the other aspects next. I'm working on the diagnosic/tuning/cruising pages right now, it's taking some time to build the right images.
The only thing that I can see changing on the AC page is the bubble man, he was my first 3d thing I did on the project (ever), and I think I could probably do better now.
I think if you kept the shape of "bubble man" combined the objects so there isnt that overlap with knees, torso type thing, then it would like perfect!
Well I hope my 'bubble man' fix is ok. It's harder than I thought. I've been limited to what I can do with illustrator, psp, fireworks, PS, And powerpoint, like I said all the 3dish stuff is from powerpoint, it has a lot of limitations basically everything is an extruded and beveled shape, with different material, fill colors and lighting. The way I have to group stuff so they rotate together is a pain in the ... Like with "bubblejerk' over there, I make a freeform object to get rid of the overlap, but then I wouldhave to make 2 torsos to get 2 legs, I cant bevel anything but the edges, in fact the fact that I got so far on that truck just kept amazing me really. I've been playing with acad2007, but it's pretty complicated. There are, however, a whole lot of tutorials online.
At this point, that 3d frustration has pretty much got me pulling my hair out. I'm going to try to go back to putting all of my pictures where they belong (FCC) and start trying to give them the function they need to have. I gave mastero a pretty long description of what I would like the new aircon to do, and automatic AC is not exactly as simple as it may seem to some.
So I'll get back to the AC page, first as if it were it's own skin, I'll try to get it to do what I need it to do, and we might benifit from a new group disccussion thread about how we will implement these things (back end support and such) for air conditioning. I'm interested in seeing greenman100's writeup. There's some calculating, estimating, and stuff. I don't really what my limitations on the skin side are going to be yet, but I'm sure that soon I will.
For those who haven't been following the aircon thread, here's some things I want to tackle with automatic AC control.

The initial idea was to have all 4 areas work something like a game of simon. push the fan control area and on the opposite side, controls are made available for the blower. I think though, 1 tap, and buttons can appear over top of the graph to allow interaction.
On the top-screen indicators, I think it will work that way. press up there once, and the bottom area will fill up with buttons like what I had on the left of the old version (only more transparent). Once a mode is selected, the temperature graph returns (or also on a time-out, hopefully). I'm still working on the basic idea, but I thought I'd share it and get some feedback on whether this is a more desirable direction to go.
The buttons that are overlayed on the graphs will appear on mouseover (or something like pressing once, whatever the touchscreen and the program will agree to) and will time out.
I know now that I tilted the temp graph I'll have to re-do the blower one too.
here are two, where the only difference is the background image.
