    Button Issues

I'm working developing climate controls. I made the skin file i want and skinned it into road runner just fine. I started with the easiest part which would be the fan speed. I created 5 buttons for the speed (0, 1, 2, 3, 4). Now I wanted it so if I click any one of those it would activate that speed but disable all the rest (ie. if I clicked on speed 3 it would disable 0, 1, 2, 4 and turn the #3 circuit on). I made all the buttons and then in the edit output section of the editor i clicked all the other buttons in the "disable" menu and it inserted the tag #ANTILINKENABLE#0;1;2;4; (thats the code for button number 3 and the others work the same - all the other buttons listed beside itself. The problem that I'm having is that when I click on any of the buttons it goes into a continuous loop of each button going on then off. What am I doing wrong here?

I had similar issues with #ANITLINKENABLE#, I posted the issue in the requests forum, but no answer on the issue ever came of it.

All I can say is that issue will probably be a little easier to fix/control with the newer, upcoming version... I hope.

Have you found a way around it yet with this version?

No problem, I'll be waiting for the new version!

While I got you here, I see your making a pretty extensive skin for you truck, I'm not looking to make one nearly as nice, but maybe you could give me some insight on how to do two things:

    1) I want to set a few buttons up in a partial circle then put an image of a knob in the middle then when i click the button it will load the correct image of the knob that will point at the button (basically the buttons will be the number of the fan speed and i want it to look like the know was turned to that position when i click it)

    2) Down the line id like to possibly put in a basical automatic climate control. Did you start figuring out that programing how to adjust the temp settings in the program and how to trigger the correct switches to achieve that?

LINKENABLE and ANTILINKENABLE disable or enable the button. You also need a LINK and ANTILINK to turn on/off the buttons. I completely forgot about the problem, I haven't even looked at it. It shouldnt be a hard fix, so I can release a newer copy of version 2 software if you would rather that than wait for the new version. I should have a new version out soon. (I know I say that often )

    1) that would be either multiimage if you want to use multiple images, or rotate image if you want 1 image that rotates around the centre.

    2) you create the analogue input, and then in the high threshold and low threshold you set what you want to trigger as an output. If you dont understand this, then nevermind, as it will be completely different in this newer version, so no need to learn the "soon to be old" way of doing things.

I know exactly what you mean, I had similar issues with my skin, dead images (knob) have been problematic at best for me, I started using analog buttons because of the way multi-level graphics work on it. But things like that are in large part responsible for the upgrade, what was needed was some intermediate functions so that properties of some 'buttons' or whatever could be affected by other buttons properties, with however many processing steps you need in between. In this case:

The output of the button would control not only the digout, but also through some easy functioning (if-then maybe) the level of a multilevel graphic. becareful with round or odd shaped images(*transparency), because the square canvases do NOT like to overlap. I don't know if this will change in the new edition.

I have started, this thread is somewhat up-to-date with my progress.

Edit: OR... I got distracted in the middle by stupid work stuff

Ok, i figured out part of my problem was that i had all the ports the same on the buttons. I didn't set them b/c I'm just designing the skin yet so it never occurred to me. So u put a different port on each one and that stopped the continuous loop of the buttons switching on and off.

In my previous posts i think i used the wrong wording... I said i wanted to disable buttons but what I was meaning to say is I want them to turn off.

Basically I have five fan speed control buttons (0-4) and I want only one to be on at a time. if #1 is on I want to click #4 and have #4 go on and all others to be off without me having to manually press them off. I tried using the ANTILINK but i think the problem is that its antilinking buttons that arent linked yet... is that possible?

Also how do i get the button to tell the image to rotate or turn to a different image? I know I should just wait for the new version, but im so intrigued with this and I can't get away from it! Sorry to be such a bother to you.

I mis-spoke too, it was actually link and antilink I was having problems with. The thing for me was clicking a button who's antilink to another button actually turned on the others along with it just like link would (weird behavior, not expected), but if I clicked that button again it would turn off, but the ones that were antilinked to it did not. I tested the same thing, using link, instead, and all 'slave' buttons turned on an off as expected, when I clicked the 'master' button on and off. Sorry but I think this is a bug that isn't going to be fixed. I'll take a look at it later and see if maybe I can fix it (if the source problem has neon lights around it & the words "free porn" right there, I might be able to find it and maybe fix it.

To get close you would create the image as a analog input button, and use the multilevel graphics property, but another button (digout) wont be able to control it in this version, there was just no conduit for this to occur. If you figure out a way around that, let me know. Analogs cant be controlled like variables and can only be changed as some specified analog input port changes.

    Sorry
