yes and yes. I have already planned what code I need to make it dump a list to a file. But if you turn logging off, that sweep still takes forever. Using the debug console I made DateTimes at the start and end, subtracted them and the resulting TimeSpan said it took almost 100ms to 200ms just for 1 image streak rotating...

I cant see anything that I would think would make it really slower than the time to go through a round of timers up until the using (Graphics) part, I got a little lost there. Ive never used that before. Do you think maybe that angle part could be applied to a solid object (or a mask over it) to get the desired effect?

I was reading about needing to use clears in a foreach loop, but I'm not sure how that would apply here, if that's needed or not.

The slow part comes with the way that "DrawImage" or "DrawPixel" works internally. They have a ton of clipping algorithms and that is big overhead. I could probably speed it up by double buffering, but I havenot been successful with double buffering in C# as I get flickering, but it is something I am looking into.

If you do a quick google for "C# DrawImage slow" or something I am sure you can read up on the specifics as to why it is slow...

That is true for most languages. You are talking about what is usually called "garbage collecting". In C and C++ this is very very important. Pretty much all non-managed code it is important. However, C# is fully managed, and has a fully automatic garbage collector.

so it seems possible to draw a graph slice from a (or a coupleof) full graph images, perhaps using something like your angle functions just prior to Drawimage, only by defining an area with the angles. That way a gradient could be applied along the path of the arc, even redlines could be defined that way. Redlines could be set by the user, and that portion of the newimage could be drawn from a different source. I like the idea of redrawing only what changes.

I am not sure what you mean... I have set the buttons to have no border. A fully transparent button should have no border.

Are you talking about the transparent images on top of one an another? I didnt see that mentioned in there. But I have read the solution. Simply, it cannot be done in GDI. Reason being Microsoft lied to everyone. They DO NOT support transparency. What a transparent region does is get the background of the control and paint it where the "transparent" region is. So there is actually no such thing as transparency which is a dirty little trick. Seems like a hack job to me and I have no idea what would make them do that. Maybe some intern with a deadline, I dunno, but it is a horrible little secret they have and should let people know of this more openly instead of advertising transparency support...
