I've downloaded it and unrared and ran the new file without error. So this file should be fine.

when I launch fusion control centre mdx from desktop, it loads and then the gauge skin comes up. But you cant click on the buttons or change pages. how can I get it to work or show a button for the steering wheel controls?
runs without errors now
What pages or buttons?
That default skin currently is an input monitoring only skin. The 6 guages with indicators. Then the gear indicators. There will be more on the bottom.
There is nothing stopping anyone from making the file their own, or making it completely different. That is the point of the skin file!!!![]()

I got it to work, thanks. I'm hoping I wont have to change too much of the skin I have started for the last version. But looking at this new toy, making needed changes should be fun, if not only interesting!! Is there a future in the config for basic text formatting of the skin in the lower left? (like other xml editors?)

How far away is the ability to open files?
May I suggest a list in the OP of features (current, upcoming, way-off), checked off or added as they come available?
In the functions, how are the relationships between the objects going to be defined?
(relationship defined as input properties to each function components?)
I've often thought about the programming that would be used to show the relationships between various objects like this (connecting lines), and how they could "know" when to turn and bend around other objects. I bet that it would be ... rather complicated), but also a table of inputs would serve that purpose until graphics, and would be an easy way to edit/create relationships.
Probably a week. This and next week are midterm and paper weeks, so it will be slow going.
Sounds good. I will have to do that.
Not really sure what you mean here. But basically a child node cannot connect to a parent node, any node of any parent to any parent node and so on. So it is hierarchy based pretty much.
The knowing when to turn will be incorporated. Currently when you place a new component, it checks the current position against the other components, to make sure you aren't overlapping. Then the connection drawing will check these previously stored "bounding boxes" and then I am thinking it will go halfway the horizontal distance before it makes a right hand turn and goes the total vertical distance. That would suffice for a connection with 0 to 1 obejcts in its path.
It is definately a hard problem, but it is more of a bling bling problem, so it is on the backburner.
I realize that. Hence the use of the future tense "will be".
You can make a skin file by using any xml editor (Dreamweaver or Word or lots more), or any plain text editor (Notepad).
Just as before.
When the designer is complete, you will only need this Configurator program to create and edit skin files. Currently, you can use the skin designer for setting up logic, inputs, outputs, logging, variables and then save the file and use that as a starting ground for the full one. Just dont close the configurator until you are done, because you wont be able to reopen it currently.
