I have the skin designer program on my computer. So I need to open the fcc uber mdx configurator at the same time to make a skin. I also have xml maker program for editing. so I can use either of theses? In the skin designer it wont let me do anything unless the brain is connected.

yes you can use the xml independantly, or you can use the configurator and the xml editor together. It is up to you.

And if the brain is not connected then you have to manually enter the brain id into the box. You can use a placeholder if you want, but your skin file wont work until you edit it manually.

so when I want to launch the new skin, I need to replace the current skin file and configuration file in the fusion mdx folder?

    Log file naming

Since I'm not using Uber yet, I'm just going by ver 2.
Can you change the naming convention of log files (or make it user configurable with a mask/template)? I'd like to see the date part of the name in the format of YYYYMMDD so it sorts properly when sorting by name. If you want to put the dashes in there, that's fine, but probably not needed. Thank you.

In Version 2, log names cannot be changed by the user unfortunately. If you have a C# compiler (Microsoft Visual Studio C# Express is free and works great, I use it on most of my PCs) then you can edit the source file when it opens the FileStream to make the name anything you want.

In Uber edition, file names can be set by the user though.

Ok, now that midterms, essays, projects, and other assorted evils associated with uni are done with... for a week... I have some time again to work on this. I will try to get a new version out in the next few days. I have done a bit more coding already without releasing it and it should have a fully functional logic section (both main code and functions). Then I work on the graphics or opening a file. I think you would prefer opening abilities, so I think I may do that first, but I am undecided yet.

And if you havent heard/seen, we have a sale going on through this monday if anyone is interested.

    File Updated

Logic If/Then is complete I think.

Functions can be created and opened from a file (as long as there is a *.designer file to go with it), and then "if/then" statements can be created based off of these functions, inputs, outputs, variables, numbers, and everything. It will create all the logic section for you.

If you have questions on how it works let me know. Also let me know how you like or dislike anything in the program so I can make it better, or future parts similar if you like it.

I hope it is more intuitive then version 2!

    Future graphical layout:

Those rulers on the top and side, are drawn at runtime to scale. So you can make it infinately larger and it will continue to scale. Mini-achievement.
