The LED doesn't come on when the jumper are in the USB mode, so i figured that's what made this board semi-defective (if that the only problem i'm very happy).
I have tried 3 different ISPs and 4 computers it's possible they could all be blocking ports. Did I understand one of your previous post correctly, even if the ports are blocked my board's info should still get through, I just cant control it remotely? It looks like your site never sees my board at all.
If incoming ports are blocked, then you cannot control it.

The latter happens for many reasons. Sometimes an aggressive antivirus program, sometimes because you are not an admin user, sometimes because you have a router setup to block all requests outgoing on port ###, lots of reasons.
I will try to get you a raw http request string that you can paste into a browser window to simulate MDX talking to the outside world. If that works, then you know it is something on the PC blocking it. Windows Defender is pretty aggressive unless you tell it not to be for certain applications.
That would be great. I would love to get to the bottom of this.
This is really cool. Being able to monitor my FB remotely, sign me up (figuratively :)). Any plans in the future to be able to incorporatte a mysql database and be able to run reports from the data all from the web page too?
I can't wait to play with this!
So I've been playing with this. I get "No Fusion Brain Instances have been reported using this user name. Fusion Control Centre Uber MDX must initiate the communication."
Steps I've taken:
1. I set it up in the configurator. What's stopping someone else from using someone else username by the way?
2. I ensured I had no firewall running on my local pc.
3. I forwarded port 4242 to my computer.
4. Double checked the config file to make sure that the correct line was there.
So I gave this a few months and now I'm trying it again. I've forwarded the port "4242" I've setup a user and configured the software per the examples in this thread, and I still get
"No Fusion Brain Instances have been reported using this user name. Fusion Control Centre Uber MDX must initiate the communication."
This time around I've created a new user as well "scotty563." Is this working for anyone or is it just me that's having issues?
This is the only MDX related entry I see in tcpview
Fusion Control Centre UberMDX.exe 2296 TCP xxxx1243 ip-72-167-173-3.ip.secureserver.net:https https CLOSE_WAIT 1 702 5 2,008
Port 1243 isn't the port I'm using in the software, and this port changes each time MDX is run so I don't think this is it. I tried forwarding it anyway with no luck.
The server is down right now. It is being upgraded with another 8Tb of goodness and a few more Gbs of RAM. Full dump and clean in progress.
Ahh very nice. Have fun with the upgrade :).
