Do I just need to let the updater take care of it or should I do a clean install? If I need to do a clean install where should I get the correct software?

The updater didn't do anything for me (not surprising, this isn't an update, so no new file version) I uninstalled the current program, then downloaded and installed the exe from the website. Worked after that.

1 small issue - the ninja kitty wizard set my brain version to 4 rather than 3, once i fixed that, i can control the board again.

This is not an update just for the software, so I have not changed the updater. The problem lies in the DirectX files. Microsoft in their infinite wisdom recently changed their web install of DirectX which the installer was using. It no longer installs everything, or core components. So unless you had other programs that installed everything before, it wouldnt work. Now the installer includes all the DirectX files.

Also the wizard will not change the version. That must be done in the box next to where you name and select its ID in the wizard manually. It defaults to 4. If you changed it to 3, and saved and it was 4, then that is a bug. Which case happened?

Yes that is the source for all official downloads. The size is incorrect on the page, the download is correct though ~284Mb for all of them.

Manually changed 4 to 3 in notepad and all was well - didn't see how to change it during the wizard, but i sped through it just trying to test the function.

Version has changed, not sure where i saw 4.0.0.0, but i thought i saw it on both old and new .exe installer files.......noticed it was much bigger when downloading vs what it said on the site too...

UPDATE...I downloaded the new installer and it worked the first time out! You guys rock! I've played around a bit and am really impressesd! Thanks for all your help on this guys

I'll post my projects as soon as I get more familiar with the configurator! THANKS

Did You Uninstall and Update through the Device Manager?

I believe, I did an Uninstall, Update Driver (Specifically Locate Drivers) and Shutdown. Avoiding MDX from installing the driver?

So does the control center not work on Vista at all? I downloaded the stuff to play and see if this is something I want to use, but all the main sections on my start menu's folder pop-up with a "stopped working" error.
