Speed Camera Import
Imported the cams then went for a drive round to check it works, getting quite close to a cam that i know is on the DB.... Nothing, Drive through the cam... Nothing.
a few mins later i get an error (cant remember exact error but will get it later) and freedrive quits. OK... reboot and re-oped FD, just incase something strange happes, after 5 mins, same thing, keep re-opening FD and same thing after a about 5 mins.
the only thing i can think that it could be is the cam import, i remember CDR saying something about it updating every 5 mins, and that how often im geting the error, and ideas?
Everything else works fine.
hi.. sorry just noticed this now.. If its erroring then there must be a problem with your cams.dat file. You can either delete it and import a new csv file, if your still having probs, then send me the csv file your trying to import and I will see whats causing it.
just tried again, same thing, error is:
runtime error '13':
CVS file im using is here, its the one off pocket gps.
just checked.. you will need to delete the top line of the cvs file, the one with long/lat etc.. as its trying to import that as a camera.
I would open the cvs file in excel and right click on the number 1 and choose delete and save. Sorry if you already know this..
have done that and re-imported, no error as of yet.
Where can I get the speed cam data download from????
Or is it something I have to buy?
the uk one should of been included in the install.. if it wasnt sorry.. Grab the csv file that dan posted in post 4.. then just delete the 1st line and import.
I'm working on improving this at the moment. should have something for you al lin a couple of days
Had taken it off, just put it back and it has the top line removed
cdr, is it possible to change how it alerts you? it says camera detected at like 500 yards and flashes the speed cam icon, but can you make it re alert you at say 200 yards.
also, what about speed? like in the csv file it has speed for a lot of them, would it be possible to make it give a further alert if you are going to fast.
hi dan.. how it alerts you is as follows
1st warning -
400m from the speedcam it give a voice alert and flash alert that a speedcam is approaching
2nd warning -
300m from the speedcam this is what happens
You will get a visual flash on the screen every second
If you are doing over the speed that is stored in the camera it will also bleep every second.. if your doing below the speed stored it doesnt bleep. Your speed is checked every second.. so say the cam is a 30mph cam, and your doing 35.. it will bleep until you drop down to 30.. then it will just return to flashing.. if you creep up again to 31 it will again bleep at you :-)
If however no speed is stored, you will just get the standard voice warning every 10 seconds.
If when its in alert mode and you tap the screen it will turn off the voice alert.. and if you tap it again it removes the visual alert.
saying this.. say you stop at lights or pull over, if your not moving towards the camera it will stop any alerts.. nothing worse than not moving and it flashing and bleeping at you :-)
The best way to test this would be to add a false 30 camera down a 40mph road and have a play. I have posted a freedrive.exe update in the release thread which fixs a couple of problems, and i'm working on improving the speedcam bit at the mo..
hope this info helps
o.. p.s if you look in the settings.ini file, at the bottom is where you can set the alert distance.. its in km. I will be changing these from .4 to 400 (meters on the next release.
