any ideas anyone?
All the different versions of FreeDrive, installed on two completely different machines, and neither work??
Any ideas??
Hey,
I have installed the Freedrive 0.9.exe software, but each time i use it, i get an error saying Tahoma is not installed!?
So i upgraded to version 1. beta latest update, but same error. Completely unusable.
So then i installed this on my second machine, and same error. What am i missing?
Car Puter, 800Mhz Processor, 192MB Ram, Win XP Pro....
Any ideas?

no Tahoma??? what OS are you using? win95?
try to install microsoft office that will install all the fonts for you
The car puter is Win XP Home, with Office 2003 installed, and my home pc is Win XP pro, with Office 2007 Beta installed, and i've checked the fonts folder and tahoma is there.
I have no idea why FreeDrive says this error!

There are lots of people with this error - and from what I can see from an afternoon's searching - a solution has never been found.
I'm in the same boat
FD 1.0 with 12 April 2006 update
XP Pro with no service packs installed
Office 2003 also installed
Tahoma is installed, and works with other programs
I don't know if it's relevant (may well be!) but I don't have any maps yet - I'm still getting to grips with what software is available.

Thanks for the pointer.
I tried this, but unfortunately it didn't make any difference.
However I did change all references to Tahoma in the destinator.inf file to Arial.
Now it loads - but I still get a "Map Load" error mesage saying Tahoma can't be found. If I click OK, everything starts OK and I get the demo map of London.
One step forwards - but still working on a complete fix
