  • Dicon controller LCD1280EI

    I don't know what happened to my thread, but I wanted to add that I think I can get these with the 31 pin hirose if that's what you all need. Originally I was only getting them with 41pin, but if you all go look up the different LG Philips panels that are out there and find a matching pinout, I can get it for you. I say LG because that's what these Dicon kits come put together for. I lucked out and my allbrite panel matches the LB121S1, so that's how I got it. But if you guys have the same pinout as the LP104V2 (which is the same as the datalux controller from Allenruble) then you should as for that. Like I said, these controllers can go up to SXGA and have a two bulb inverter, an osd board, and all necessary cables. These will be $135 but I can't get any more till I sell my first batch and get more money to spend.

        Okay I got a batch a five to sell. They are brand spankin' new and have not been opened from their bags. I still don't know what happened to my thread with the pictures but I think I have enough buyers for this batch to not worry about advertising them again. Ecar gets one, Zapatka gets two, possibly three. And I can't remember who else wanted one? Sorry guys, I have to up the price to $136 because they charged me more for shipping than expected. This price will get it priority mail to your US address. If you want UPS ground or insurance, it may be a couple bucks more. PM me for payment instructions.

          I forgot to announce for those who are going to use this for the allbrite setup, on the board there is a switchboard with like 8 small dip-switches. One switch is on already (like number four or five), you must turn that switch off and then switch on the 2nd switch. This will set the resolution and timings to 800X600 for your screen. Enjoy!!!

            Ecar = 1
            Zapatka = 2
            SinnerG = 1 if you want it!!
            I will have one more from the batch but I might keep that for myself if the price goes up. Some have said it is going up, I will check on that....

              If these come with the 31 pin hirose and that last one is still availabe, I'll take it. They will do 640x480 right?

                It will do anything up to sxga, but I only have it in 41 pin hirose at the moment.

                  Hmm.. Can you get the 31 pin cable? How much and when. I would like to buy this as I'm rather unhappy with my datalux controller but have no need for the 41 pin.

                    I will try, maybe in two weeks. The price may be going up, hopefully not more than $150 for controller, osd board, and inverter. By the way, what is wrong with your Datalux controller? I had one with problems and it turns out it was missing some components on the board, capacitors and such. It gave the picture some poor quality.

                      My datalux is ok while in windows, but any other video mode (bios on boot, dos, windows boot screen, etc) I have to readjust it and even then sometimes in dos there is no way I can read everything on the screen. It would be fine if I was always in windows, but I keep trying differnt frontends, OS's and such. That and I've got 2 datalux inverters kinda ghetto rigged because my screen has 2 backlights and the brightness adjustment does not work well (had to wire a switch to turn off one of the inverters). Also I hand-made the 31 pin hirose cable and every now and then it tweaks out. Would much rather have a controller which is digital, can support other resolutions if I choose to change screens ( I also have one of those 16:9 LVDS Fuji screens like allen rubble and he uses this controller for it) and already has an inverter which will natively support 2 backlights. Basically I'm trying to filter out all of the rigged up crap to make for a nicer, seamless install.

                          I got it. Looks great.

                          It will take me a while to get it hooked up. Maybe next spring? I am working on the road for the next few months (at least).

                            I finally hooked these two up (my AllBrite and the Dicon). Worked perfectly. Just moved the dipswitches as ddogg_777 described, plugged in a 12VDC PS, and turned it on.

                            I did have to trade the 4 light inverter with the 2 light iverter that the controller came with. So, I only ran it wit 2 backlights. ddogg_777, did you get your running with 4 lights? If so, how? I would love to have a knob to turn next to the monitor. Seems to be that the most convenient way to control brightness would be just a simple knob. Is that possible?
