komarak this is the third thread you have started for buying an SV 24/25. The others are dated:
    12-12-2003
    12-09-2003

What is your deal with this mainboard? It is not that great, with known issues related to the BIOS and sound.

Yes it is a nice small package (with or without the cool aluminum case)

Did you get your win 98 or 2k sound issues fixed?
you might take a look at this:

    for answers and a SV24/25

Why are you starting yet another thread on this? Didnt I tell you to just reply your earlier thread and it'll bump the thread to the top?

TrunkinMP3, what BIOS and sound issues do you have with the board? do you have the 24 or the 25?

        I don't any more, I think it was a 25.

Bad BIOS chip just out of warrenty, replaced the chip... still no good. I sold it as a dead board with the Al case.

The above referanced forum would be a better source for info on sound issues. I stoped being interested in the mainboard about a year ago. komarak may be able to tell you more (he has several threads about sound woes).

I gave up on the board. When I tested for the existance of the MIC VCC (one of the 5 PINS near the PCI slot that connects to the CASE audio jacks) which I expected to be 5VDC and found nothing I was sure the sound circuit was probably dead. I sent the board back to the person I purchased it from for a refund.

In the mean time I have found another FV24 that the owner has confirmed that the audio worked - I should get it in a few days.

I love this board (fv-25), I have seen MANY MANY MANY more problems with the epia than I have with this board!

Wish you luck. I do not use the epia either, My preferance is for a desktop size board.

From what I read the problem I had did not seem to be typical. I am anxious to get the new board. I still have my HD set up from the old one, so I am hopeful that I should just have to plug everything into the new MB and I should be on my way.

FV24 and FV25 use different chipsets and different video card so it wont be plug and play. It'll find new devices and install drivers
