  • wtb: red 40x4 lcd

    i have seen several people with an inversed lcd that is red. this would match the interior of my firebird perfectly. i am willing to trade. i've got all sorts of stuff: VFD, arby inversed lcd, 13" tft, lots of computer parts. thank

    can't you just change the color of the LED's inside?

      What about a 20x4 inversed Red LCD????? I can get you one of those... talk to member shaggamuki on saturday when he gets back.

        If its Led backlite, you can change it, if its not you can't... Are arbys LED backlit??

              They are led backlit, but they have about 50 surface-mount led's inside.

              I'd like to see someone replace all of those

                      how do u open it to get to change em ?

                      is their only 50 caus if its 40x4 and thers like 1 for each cahracter then its like 160.

                            Ooops, it's actually 4 rows of 24, that makes 96 led's!

                            Sorry for the suckyness of my digicam, but you get the idea. There is a white diffuser over the led so you don't see spots, but a nice glow. In the pic, half of the diffuser is gone so you can see the led's.

                              They have red LCD's and inversed red LCD's at <a href="http://www.crystalfontz.com">Crystal Fontz</A>. (www.crystalfontz.com)... not sure if it will work for you, but you can at least see what some different designs look like (look under "standard LCD".
