that's a nice setup to use for the box, backlight & touchpanel maybe, but the screen itself & the controller are most likely crap... this combined with a better screen can be sick... if you have the room for it that is

bad thing is, the backlight assembly is fitted to the lcd. and, the bl assy is of limited use as far as what panels it will fit.
I have a few of them here (the backlight assemblies and inverters, not those monitors)
I suspect that those units on ebay are probably in need of a ccfl overhaul.
unless the seller picked them up dirt cheap.
At one time those montors sold for 5k each!
I attached some pics of the bl assy. and inverter for ****s and giggles.

that's a really cool inverter... do you have any pictures of inside the lightbox/ccfl's?...

yeah, the other problem like you mentioned, is ccfl's do have a limited life, & if these have been in sevice for 5-6 years, chances are what used to be a 1,300 nit backlight, is now maybe a 600 nit backlight...

in the end, all your really buying here are parts.... cool stuff to play with, but as an assembly not really so hot to use as is....

wish I had 2 of those to play with right now for a project I'm working on....

1 backlight and inverter is 199.99. shipping depends on zip code, but should be less than 10.00 with insurance.

That inverter is a monster, power wise. It can power up to 12 ccfl's ( up to 300 or 360mm length bulbs I think), and I think it pulls 5 or 6 amps on 12v!!! Almost 75 watts I believe. I need to look at the specs again to be sure of these numbers.
