4-6 - it's before the spring break rush for a reason...lol - there's a lot of us down there, and in general, it's the older, legal to drink croud.....I think they had problems in the past when it was held at the same times as regular spring breakers....lol
we finally made it down here. the trip normally takes about 7 hours (400+ miles and we are STILL in Texas....lol).....it ended up taking almost 12 hours....
2 other guys wanted to follow us down here since they had never been. Since this is like my 4th year to this show and we knew the way, i said sure....why not?
well, they are competing in the car/bike show, one guy has a yellow SV650 motorcycle and the other has a RSX.....
well, the RSX just had a big brake kit put on, come to find out, the front stainless steel lines....WAY too long....they ended up rubbing on the half shafts....and rubbed a hole through the drivers side and almost through the passanger side front lines.....we had stopped to get some dinner and when we were pulling out to leave, he had NO line pressure, pedal went right to the floor.....so 3 and a half hours later we ended up plugging the line (meaning he had no drivers front brake at ALL) and having to limp it the rest of the way here.....going about 55 the entire way....what should have taken us an additional 3 and a half hours ended up taking like 6 hours.....
but we are here and safe, have a trailer lined up for the ride back for him...
what sucked is that where we stopped to eat was a town of about 700, at 7pm EVERYTHING that would have been helpful had closed down....no parts stores, nothing....don't even think there was a walmart there.....totally sucked....
oh well, we are here and ready to show....(or go back to sleep)....=]
Hey congrats again on the first place in Padre.
Also, thanks for all the info and the site address, I'm hooked. LOL
I left SBJ with loads of ideas, and your car was some of my favorite. I just wish i would have been able to think more about questions to see how your car was setup and how it actually works, but your web site helps alot. Kinda kewl that your computer doesn't actually have a case. could not figure out where you would put a computer case in your car. LOL now I know.
Good luck in futer competitions, and hope to see you guys again.
What other shows will you be making this year?
BTW... I know you saw alot of people at SBJ, i was the tall guy, that came up after the awards ceremony and said congrats.
Yeah, that was me.
I know what you mean about being busy this spring break, gonna be a crazy one.
You gonna be going to any other shows this year?
Would like to see your setup again.
Also, what all do you have on yours? (mp3,dvd,gps...?)
See you guys around. Later
Going to Heat Wave in Austin for sure, and probably a few local shows and maybe a few in the houston and dallas areas...
on mine I just do the basics....mp3, dvd, wifi, remote control via my PDA. I have no need for GPS really. Other than the cool factor, I have no reason to do it...lol
It's just another wire to run and another place to find somewhere to put the antenna...
I have an XM PCR sitting here that I used last time, but since they are raising rates and the sound quality of XM has gone to ****....I'll just sit on it....might sell it and make a few $$$...who knows....lol
This is my first day here... I was googleing about car pc's and found this site.
I've been wanting to build me a computer for my truck for awhile now and what a great site!
Y'all said that there might be a show in Houston. I'd love to go and check out your car and everyone else's for some ideas.
I have a 94 Ranger (still faithfully running, lol) that i want to fix up.
I'm a computer geek but not a car buff, so alot of this is new to me.
Congrats on first place!!!

1% complete. (I'm still planning it out)
as for the houston show - the next one that I see listed that I MIGHT be able to make is the 'Texas Showdown' on June 4th - not sure where it is but it's a tripple point event and it's 2 days long....I have it marked on my calandar and am planning to go but who knows closer to that time...
I will post up if I'm going to be down there - might be able to make it a MP3 car meet for the Housotn area, who knows!
