  • D/FW AREA MEET on AUG 26 - Need location suggestions

    Any ideas?
The Hooters parking lot where we've met the past couple times is tight on space, the service sucks and the waitresses aren't up to Hooters' fine standards.

So we're open to ideas. We all want some place where they have a good selection of brew, decent food, and, more importantly, sufficient PARKING!!!! If there's a place that has some shade, all the better.

Another thought is to do a public park potluck picnic type of deal. If we could convince TheLandYacht to come up and gril tri-tip again, I'll bring the Weber.
Last time we had a decent crowd, and it could have been a good potluck, but I'm also realistic enough to know that turnout may or may not happen again.
I hope it does, sure, but we all have lives away from our vehicles that may prevent us from showing up.

So post your ideas here. We're open to all.

Depending on the day and time, I can throw out a few places that would be good. If you are into Mexican food, Aparichio's near downtown Plano is good, and they have 2 parking lots, so room shouldn't be a problem if we park in the "remote" lot.

I just know that most of the people on this board are a bit tight on $$. While I love Aparichio's, I know that it might be a tad much $$ for some.

      Just a thought.

We can go to Fudruckers or another burger place?

as much as I'd like to make this meet, I doubt I will. Funds being as tight as they are, I think 3 or 4 trips up per year is about all I can afford, and I was just up there a month ago.

Perhaps next time. Figure a park, we can chip in for TriTip & do da grill thing.

I'm all for a potluck deal, but as mentioned before, we'd be relying on people actually brining their own food to share....not so sure I'd rely on that...lol

not to mention, this WILL be in August, not even having the option of A/C will be a killer for the meet lasting any time.

I'd suggest the parking lot in front of the Loews Theaters right by the High 5. There's a choice of Skoots and Bone Daddy's if you need scenery or brew and the Microcenter is right there as well if you absolutely must have some gadget. Plenty of parking all around.

I've heard BoneDaddy's is pretty good. I'm all for that.

Any chance of shade in front of that Loew's?

                bone daddys isn't bad

personally I think the women there are much more intriguing than hooters...fishnet stockings will do that I guess...
