I'd like to have one in Febuary, this should give me plenty of time to get my new motherboard in and pray that nothing else got damaged from my short. I'll have to think of a good location though.

I'm down for pretty much whenever.
HOPEFULLY I'll be in a position to have my install completed, or at least the final stage of it in progress....
Have you looked in the FAQ yet?

I vote for the earlier dates rather than the later...but any day will work for me. As for location, anywhere in North Texas will work...I drive between downtown Dallas and Plano/Frisco quite a bit as it is. Past meets seem to have been held at a restaurant, so that's probably not a bad trend to continue.

                  Looking forward to being there!

We could do it at White Rock Lake. A beautiful place if the weather is right. There are also picknick tables and stuff for anything foodwise anybody decides to bring. It would also draw alot of attention and get some non carputer people interested in the rides, which would also be cool.

                      I like White Rock lake...
There are a couple drawbacks, though....

There isn't a whole lot of parking, and if it's a nice day, there will be lots of people there, making parking difficult for a group.
If the weather sucks, there is no shelter, but there would be plenty of parking...

                        As do I...

There is a good amount of parking, but the problem is that it's distributed in tiny lots that aren't likely to accomodate a large group unless completely empty. The one large lot I can think of is around the bathhouse (I think that's what it's called, anyway) area on the east side of the lake.

I haven't been able to attend a meet yet, but from what I remember, attendance has been fairly spotty (like < 10)...so Whiterock is probably possible...unless the weather sucks.

Here's my thoughts on White Rock lake.
I think February would present a high probability of crap weather.

In a crap weather situation, I think having the eet at a local restraunt or somethng would be better, so we can go inside to prevent everyone getting wet and cold and sick.
Perhaps when it gets more spring-like we could do one at WhiteRock, when the weather is more likely to be pleasant.

                            Just my 3.141592625 cents.

Yep....this relatively pleasant fall and early winter almost had me fooled...I'd forgotten how nasty and unpredictable Feb. can be at times.
