  • new sub box = new location of carpc

i built a lovely new sealed box this weekend, which is home to my dual 12" p3 Rockford Fosgates.
    Dimensions : 39"width, 17" height" and 16 inches depth.

My previous box was simply too small, :-( was not producing the earth moving bass i desired.

This new baby i am very proud of DEEEEEEP bass
It barely fit into my car. lol
After some expert tetris playing, my friend and i managed to manuever the coffin, err, sub box, into place. here comes the
the carpc was mounted directly about the box, shuts down or freezes, whenever the bass is continually hitting hard or receives one good blast lol .

i've been meaning to relocate the carpc anyway due to extreme vibrations, but now i being forced to. lol
so i need to hurry and place the carpc under the passenger seat in time for next week saturday, showcase day!

I was looking at your PC specs, and wondering if you have an SSD and it still messes up with bass? I would guess so..its just that people say SSD stands up to anything.

I am still in the planning stages of my car pc and now I definitely know not to install it in the trunk with the subs.

    Thanks for the post

me **thinks** that the cpu itself ,shifts ever so slightly when the bass hits.

i've done just a simple test myself to "verify" ; i've mannually wiggled all the major components on the board, and the only one that caused the machine to freeze was when i giggled the cpu.

i love music tooo much, i dare not turn the bass down. lol

im gonna try mounting the pc case on rubber feet, as a last resort, before i actually relocate. i barely have much space under any of the seats.
