  • Download IE9...now. It's great!

Just officially launched today. It looks to me to be even faster than the RC version I was using until today...I don't know how. I'm throwing a lot of sites at it, heavy flash and some very cool html5 showcases...Chrome can't cope with the best...Ie9 is really freaking unbelievable. Very, very F_A_S_T!!!

Never in a million years would expect that. I was a happy user of Chrome so far, after Firefox turn out to be as bloated as Netscape.

It looks like I've just upgraded my PC. Very cool.

Did I read 9 is W7 only, not XP compatible?

      Nope, IE7 or Vista, IIRC.

Funny that Java performance does not blown Google away, it's close or it even loses in some v8 benchmark. But is Java still prevalent? I don't even have Java installed in my machine, hate that bug fest...is Java built in the browsers then? Who knew? No idea how prevalent Java is now a days. I thought people were using HTML 5 + flash by now.

Nevertheless the impression still stands, IE9 is for me faster. Maybe I was just trying "best of the web" pages last night. Some pretty freaky cool stuff out there btw.

          Wot - not W2k!
I used IE8 at a mate's place. Not impressed, but that could be his setup (XP).

Still FF for me - probably even after W2k to W7. (Or FinUX?)

JavaScript is not the same as Java. JavaScript is very much relevant because it is a huge part of HTML5. IE9 is great, super fast. If it had the big 3 plugins I use that Firefox or Chrome has I'd switch.

                    I am still loving it.

Have you seen IE10 preview running on ARM? HTML5 animations and stuff? Very cool to watch 500 fish swimming and lighting and sea, and all that stuff on a web page, in an ARM processor...thanks to the GPU. Firefox and Chrome don't use as much GPU power as IE9, no matter how much they love java, flash and all that stuff. The future is about engaging the GPU, me thinks.
