  • DVD Audio disabled

I was just reading through my papers for the audigy 2, and came across a little blip that says that for copyright reasons dvd-audio is disabled when your using the digital out on the sound card.

This really sucks cause I want to watch DVD's and I want digital sound. Is there any way around this? Or am i gonna have to get analog speakers instead of digital?

I looked through the manual online, and found nothing like that. That doesn't make sense that they would disable it, why would they have it on the card then?

That would be for the DVD audio format. Not the DVD video format. Your movies will work just fine. What they don't want is someone being able to use the digital out function to make non lossy copies of DVD audio discs. I wouldn't worry much about it. DVD audio probably won't catch on any time soon.
A digital mind lost in an analog world.
