  • Hi8 to PC

In a bit of a bind here...I need to get some analog footage from my 6-year old Sony Handycam (Hi8) onto my pc so I can edit the footage for a short film i'm making.

The camera has standard A/V, S-Video outputs. My computer only has S-Video. This camera is old so it didn't come with any software to connect it to a pc.....Camera model is Sony CCD-TRV65.

So.....What can I do? Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

    You'll need a capture card.

Btw, recommend any brands/models? It needs to be external also.

If you don't have to go external then I'd hit compgeeks.com. I bought a capture card from them and only paid $20. It works great for capturing from my camcorder.

I believe Dazzle makes external capture cards. You can also search froogle for other USB capture devices.
