  • Help finding this switch...

...just taken the front off my head unit againt to have a look at the button fixing and broke the bloody on/off switch.

The switch has a square base, approx 6mm sq and is a latching action with 6 contacts on on the back (although all rows are linked so effectively it is just a simple puch to toggle switch).

If anyone knows where i might get one as i have just been trawling though the RS web site with no luck please let me know.

Pic is a bit crap but i took it off my phone.

it defintely is latching as it is for the power so no point wasting your time if it is momentary. But thanks again for offering was a really nice gesture. Might go take something apart in work and see if i can find one

no writing, found something similar after trawling through the entire farnell switch catalogue as i didnt trust the search thing. http://uk.farnell.com/jsp/endecaSear...U=733210&N=401

RS must have one of these and they are local (but probably have to buy 10 million or summit!)

Its a nasty standard Pug clarion unit. Will pop into RS when i get a chance but until then will just hard wire it on. I was just thinking i don't actually think i have turned it off except when working on the car!

Possibly gonna relocate the fron panel of my HU to my dash, making new facia with just the buttons and LCD sticking through so might look for a better head unit with AUX on ebay. Anyone got any suggestions of an old HU with aux in. Also needs to have push buttons (no dials) for the volume as i will wire it up to the stearing wheel remote volume (that is ssuming when i take it apart the vol up and down have a common ground.

Was thinking sony for an eventual MP3-HU LCD job using gnunilink but it seems a bit complicated. Will take a look at that pioneer, cheers.
