nothing mind blowing, but it will be my gaming system.
        P4 3Ghz HT
        1Gb pc3200 DDR Ram
        asus P4P800 mobo
        80Gb seagate HDD
        GeForce FX5500 256Ram

btw just for comparison, the system i have been forced to use for the past 2 years is as follows:

          P2 400Mhz
          300Mb Ram
          8Gb hdd
          8X cd-rom
          sound blaster live

it is so brutally slow, i dont think i can handle it much longer

Wow...thats a big upgrade! Sounds pretty nice.

I built my comp...and well I got a little out of hand....I guess. Here are the specs:

            Dual p4 xeon 3.06ghz w/ht
            2 gb pc2700
            asus pc-dl deluxe
            Currently 5 hd's: 1 scsi 15,000rpm 20gb, 1 scsi 10,000rpm 20gb, 1 IDE 80gb, 1 60gb, 1 40gb)
            ATI radeon 9800
            dvd drive, cd-burner, floppy

I think it serves its purpose!!

EDIT: Oh ya and I'm not a gamer. They don't appeal to me.

At one point I was running 2 websites and an e-mail server from it. But their gone now and its all mine!

I built it for very little because I had many parts + many friends. Grand total came to around $1100. It was cool but now I am focusing on the carputer.

Not a bad system. I would have saved some money by going with AMD (and gained some performance too ).

                  Congratulations.

back whan i was 13 and into computers to my knowledge AMD was still struggling to be as good as intel. i didnt find out it was better until it was too late
but i think the P4 will do just fine

so i stayed up till 11:30 waiting for it to be deliverd (they said somewhere around that time) then the guy came online said "tommorow" then logged off.
i slept woke up, drifted through school, and then went and got the parts myself. i got home, whipped out the first batch of parts and started taking off the side panal. my mom burst in and said i couldnt build it till my dad got home (i can do it on my own)
so now i have my awsome system staring at me and i cant do anything with it
                      this sucks
