Ok, who went to see it this weekend?

Did you read the book? If so when? (ie recent cuz of the movie, or long time ago and been waiting for the movie)

I read these books during the early 90s and read all 5 of them at least every other year or so, cuz they so good.

I thought the movie was well done, and the parts they cut out of the script werent missed, but every day I think of something else that could or should have been in it....

I haven't read the books or seen the tv shows.

I didn't like the movie at all. I fell asleep about 45 minutes into it. The effects were good and the depressed robot was funny, but apart from that...

2 out of 5 (from the amount I saw)

read the book, youll like it better. all the explanations of the universe and stuff is what made the books so great.

i never understand how ANYONE can fall asleep in a movie, loud noise, people laughing abruptly, i mean you paid to see the movie and you fell asleep (not talking about RICKSTER personally) how can that be? I aint a light sleeper but I cant fall asleep in a movie unless im totally wasted on tranquilizers

I loved the books so much I read them to my girlfriend, and so she was pretty excited to see the movie too. I think it was a little 'hollywood-ified' (gotta have a big bad enemy, and a love story) but overall I am really hoping that they do movie versions of the other 4 books in the trilogy.

i enjoy the Casino Planet formed entirely from wind erosion.

Its a 5 star casino/hotel planet carved out of sandstone that in the infinite universe could very well happen.

Or Gallumbits the triple breasted whore or Eroticon 6 (stolen and put into the POS movie, Total Recall)

the love story is a bit blown out of proportion, but it was there i mean in Mostly Harmless they have a kid (not thru sex tho...)

for a hollywood movie (the only way you can make an effects and CGI movie like ****) it was a good attempt at book to movie translation.

the whale falling from the sky was almost verbatim from the book

                  Got your towel?

I went with a few friends on Sunday afternoon. The movie was about half full for the 4:00pm show, and over 30 people showed up with towels! I loved the yarn scene.

That'll be the Germans, trying to reserve their seats for next weeks movie. (might not translate well to those across the pond)

I am actually finishing up an English course that we read that book in. Talk about an easy A. I loved the book, I haven't seen the movie though. Having read the book, and knowing that Douglas Adams wrote the movie, I can't wait.

I never read the book, but found the names amusing. For instance, instead of using AIM, I use trillian (www.ceruleanstudios.com). And babelfish, the universal translator. I'm sure you've all seen the babelfish website which translates web pages for you. I think there were others, too.

I haven't seen the film yet but I watched the TV series years ago and read the 5 book trilogy (how wierd is that). Its cult stuff and everyone should read the book/s if they get a chance.
