so who knows what companies are good and which ones to avoid for shipping cars?

we're looking to rent out an entire semi (5-6 cars) to go to finals from College Station, Tx or the surrounding area to Kansas City, Mo

    thanks in advance!

well considering red's into car audio stuff, and the fact that they want to bring their cars with them to these "finals", I would venture to guess it's for a car audio competition.
But don't take it from me! here's a quote from a real, live newbie:

              hell no!

you know how much damage that can do to your car?!

the metal shavings fromt he tracks etc get embedded in your paint etc.

that and finding the place to take the cars to and pick them up from isn't exactly going to be easy...lol

We're going to have to tow my car there. There's no way we can fit three people in a GTi AND all of our luggage AND all of the free **** you get while at World Finals. Towing it will involve renting a U-haul trailor which will cost ~$200 for the weekend. We will have to borrow Monte's parents truck at 14 mpg while towing AT MOST. So ~750 miles / 14 mpg = 55 gallons of gas for one way * $2.20 in gas down here right now (who knows what it will be at in october) = $121.00 x 2 = $242 in gas at the very least.

We would both have to miss an additional day of work @ ~$200 combined

                  so we're at:

                  $250 for gas
                  $200 for the trailor
$200 for work missed as well as a day of classes

brings us to $650 at the very least to trailer the car up there, and it would take about 15 hours.

The plane tickets would be taken care of and so wouldn't need to be factored into the equation. As far as how much it would cost to have the car shipped up to finals, well that's what I'm trying to figure out.

There will be 6 of us splitting the cost of a rig to haul our cars up there (provided the rig can haul 6 cars)....if we find one that will only do three then it will be split among 3 people...etc....

so does anyone have any recomendations?

So now I just need to
