Being a member of the carputer community, Im an advocate of putting a computer almost anywhere....but in my SHOE? WHHHYYYY????
Check out the book "The Eudaemonic Pie", it's the story of a group U.C. Santa Cruz physicists who invented a shoe computer for the purpose of "gaming" the roulette wheel in Las Vegas casinos...in 1981. The book isn't very good, the story itself is kinda facinating to geeks like us, though. How do I know this obscure story? I worked for one these guys a few years ago.
My worklog. Status: VM GTI sold, got out of the CarPC tinkering hobby, but I still think about getting back in.
they have a bunch of documentaries on beating the odds in casinos and stuff through cheating, card counting and so forth.... its on the History channel I dunno how often.... it is called Breaking Vegas.... I saw one about cheating slots, and the blackjack one about the MIT cardcounting team
2005 Range Rover 4.4 Any ideas for putting a PC in this? :)
