    "Telewest 100Mbps Broadband by 2007
Plans to launch DOCSIS 3 based service

Telewest has plans to launch a service based on DOCSIS 3 middleware which will allow download speeds between 50Mbps and 100Mbps by the end of 2006, reports ZDNet UK. The company also announced that it is rolling out a 10Mbps broadband service in the UK which should reach London at the beginning of next year and the rest of the country following over the next 12 months. Telewest is upgrading all of its blueyonder broadband packages, with the elite service being boosted from 4Mbps to 10Mbps. The company also announced the price of this service has dropped from 50 ($89 US) per month to 35 ($62 US) per month."

    lol

I've got NTL @1Mbps (allegedly) but the servers at the other end aren't any quicker. So those 150kb "large res" jpgs are still a bit slow....

Like roadhog aluded to - the problem these days FTMP is related to upload speeds on the other end.

That being said, what kind of upload speed does 100Mbps come with?

I have had 10 Mbs cable for more then 4 years now, and they improved the service about a year and a half ago and now i hit speeds over that (around 12Mbs). My upload sucks though (about 1Mbs upload) and they cap it quickly if they think i am file sharing.

It's all about the quality and bandwidth of the providers hardware. 100 Mbs would be real nice especially if the upload speeds go up to 10 mbs or more.
