Stupid video decoders, stupid jittery playback. Stupid WinDVD, PowerDVD, NVidia, Nero. Stupid, stupid, stupid.

Man, same here!! I bought my Vaio with MCE 2004, and it worked *flawlessly*. Then, Sony sent me the upgrade for $10, and now it hangs, crashes, pukes and belches all the friggin' time! I've done everything I can think of - Windows updates, BARE SYSTEM, etc. but can't seem to make it stable. M$ has a couple of 'fixes' for it, but nothing seems to help. This really is just a rant, but if anyone had any suggestions, I'd gladly take 'em!

            yep - it sucks

and macs have even more limits, problems , lack of software ext ext

and linux also sucks for video

I use a WinFast TV2000 XP Expert and have no problems
its not the best - but I have never had even one problem

            here is a review

            and another

its about $50 and has all the softwae - even has FM radio

it is a card that uses software to encode video - but I used one
on a 800mhz computer with no problem, just recorded in "mpeg 2"

they have others - google it - and you may be able to use
your capture card with SnapStream Beyond TV, SageTV, GB-PVR,
GB-PVR works with a lot of the Hauppauge cards and is free
