  • Decent cheap printer?

Hey Im looking for a printer for my house. I'll use it pretty infrequently, so it needs to be able to sit for weeks in between uses. Needs to be color. And it needs to be reasonably priced.

Now that being said I havent bought a printer in probably 10 years, so any advice on whats good nowadays and whats not will be much appreciated.

    Thanks!!

It really depends on what you want out of the printer.
If it's for printing the occasional document, then there are sub-$100 inkjets that will do you well. Personally, I'm not a big fan of Lexmark. That's just one man's opinion.
Have you looked in the FAQ yet?
    How about the Wiki?

Im going to do a lot of printing on 'iron'on' paper to make t-shirts (hence the need for color) and the occasional document.

Inkjets/BubbleJets/liquid printers die quickly if you don't use them. The ink dries and the jets become useless.
Lasers might be a better option, but you're talkin more moola.

You might want to weigh the cost between a printer (and new cartridges every couple of months) and Kinkos.

I buy brand new laser printers from staples for less than $20, using coupons, price matching and rebates. If I need ink, I refill them myself buying toner off ebay or just toss it and buy another one.

I've just had my second epson color die on me.
I haven't had any good experiences with HP either.

                        I'd stay away from both.

Damn, thats cheap if you can get a laser printer for under $20.

I was just getting confused when you say laser, then ink, then toner. For that price, I was more incline to believe you are refering to an inkjet printers.
