  • Car Alarm wiring question (trunk release)

I'm in the process of installing a 2-way car alarm. I have everything wired and everythings working EXCEPT for the trunk release. According to the manual the trunk output from the alarm is + and the trunk release wire on my altima according to the manual is -. Now i know doors n trunks might not need be wired like typical "polarity matters" setups... but before i go about frying this thing thats workin like a charm now i wanted to see if you electronic guru's could shed some light.

I am not a guru on this field, but with some handon to this kind of work.
Well you have to use a meter to make sure what polarity does the trunk release work with and the output of an alarm.
In your case, the trunk release work with (-) and the alarm is (+), you have to use a RELAY to convert the polarity.
Use standard auto relay for the purpose. Wire the alarm output (+) to 86 and Ground to 85. Another ground to 30 and the output 87 to the trunk release wire.
