Complete Desktop system with Cyrix 166 MMX processor (works like a Pentium), with multimedia ready capabilities

I am throwing in a used ATI RAGE 64MB video capture card (PCI card) to watch tv or capture video and audio on your desktop
a.) Isn't the whole thing used anyway?
b.) works like a pentium hooked up to a heating element..
c.) That must be some customized video card with helluva hardware compression etc to be able to capture video on a cyrix 166.. unless maybe you were planning on capturing raw video...

    good find!

mp3car system is currently FUBAR and finances do not allow for a correction of that situation

"This would make an excellent first computer for a student "

all i know is that i made my own computer before i went away to college, and going away to school and seeing some of the junk that people bought from dell (my girlfriend included). these things cant play mp3's decently, its pathetic. however somehow they can play divx fine. you have no idea how sad it is to walk down the hall and hear someone's music stutter. i have a Pentium II 300 at home that has been playing mp3's for years, never had a problem.

yet we can get them to play on antiquated machines.

I captured video on my Cyrix P166+ with an ATI TV Wonder all the time before I upgraded...Compression took a while, but then it always does....

          Way to expensive...

          Man,

for the same money ($300) I will set you up with 300MHz AMD K6, with 128 mb ram and about 6 gb hdd. No fancy video card, but a good working machine I used for 2 years. Call me at 502-802-4705 with question.

You can build a basic duron 1ghz system for not much more than 300 in the us, which is the scary thing that they think they're going to get bid upon.
