  • The USPS package delivery service is horrible :(

Sometimes we all need to vent a little frustration..

So I ordered a BU-353 two weeks ago and still don't have it! I am not home during the day, so all of my packages are delivered to my apartment's office, which works out great! Time passed, but I didn't suspect anything because I know from experience that the USPS can take a long time to ship things sometimes.

I don't get a whole lot of snail mail, so I only check it every few days. When I finally did check it I found a slip stating that delivery had been attempted, but signature confirmation was required, (which the seller never told me) so the package was at my local post office for pickup. When I called, however, I learned that the package had already been shipped back to the sender! Aparrently the USPS does not even attempt a single redelivery, and only holds your package for 2 days before sending it back.

Personally I think that USPS should leave a sticker on the DOOR with a place for the recipient to sign and write where to leave the package.. like UPS does.. that always worked well for me..

Well I've contacted the seller and hope I can get what I paid for..

No ****! I sold something to someone in Canada. It took more than a month to get it there. CRAZY! And the data in the tracking was upated once. So, the buyer probably thought I was ripping him off. I'm back to UPS now.

Oh, and when I ordered a set of shocks and springs, the lazy bastards left it next to the mailbox, by the curb. It looks like they threw it out of the truck and kept going. They could have left it on the porch.

Any carrier can have issues when you are importing/exporting outside of the country. This has little to do with the carrier ~ also, USPS does not deliver directly to customers after it reaches it's destined country. It drops off the packages to local delivery carriers that finish off the delivery (verses UPS which handles the package from start to finish). The down side to UPS is it does not offer services everywhere USPS does. I have never found much of a delay at all in sending packages to people domestically using USPS, I have only seen issues arise on an international level.

And it's the postal service's fault that you don't check your mail every few days?
When I'm expecting a package, I'm all over the mailbox, knowing I'm going to get something...

Well a combination of the post office 1) not even attempting a single redelivery and 2) only holding the package for 2 days before sending it back. I mean what if someone goes out of town for the weekend?? Also it would have been nice if the seller told me it was going to require a signature, because I expected it to be left at my apartment's office like my packages from usps (and every other carrier for that matter) always are.

You do know that if you go out of town, you can (and should) notify the post office that you're out of town so they'll hold your mail for you.
And they did attempt a delivery to your mailbox. They aren't required to bring it to your door if you live in an apartment, as you & I do. If you expect packages to be left at the leasing office, then make those arrangements with your post office.

My mail carrier is actually quite nice, and will bring backages to the door, but he's not required to.

The only thing I found USPS suck is the tracking. Everything else, they are the best. If there is something that required a signature to pickup, they always drop the note on your box indicated when it will be return if it isn't pickup. UPS/Fed-Ex aren't allow to touch your mailbox. If they do, you thing they stick a note on your front door?

That's ALWAYS the case with USPS. Never once have I ever had USPS update tracking. It wasn't just you.

I know there are certainly things I could have done to avoid the situation, but there are also things the seller and USPS could have done too. I just wanted to vent my frustration a little bit..

You must have met my delivery person......better for it to be thrown on the curb than to order 34 year old A/C brackets from someone then have them arrive with a ripped taped up box that has "damaged" stamped on it and half the contents missing......makes you want to drive cross country just to pick things up yourself

Um, maybe its not their fault, but they need to stay competitive and try to keep up with the companies that are doing much better at informing their customers and shippers that they have something for them. I've had UPS call me before because I wasnt able to grab the shipment at home. The post office however does the minimum possible. They just dont compete and loose more money and more money. My Amazon CD that was shipped on Dec 5 arrived on the 23rd. Not very timely either.
