  • And it begins.... again! (Pics)

So here we go, CarPC install number 3. The parts started rolling in a few days ago. The basic setup so far is a Dell SX270 with a 7” TView touch screen. The Sound card is a USB Sound blaster 5.1 surround. It was left over from my previous install so Im going to use it for now until I buy an Audigy 2 NG. I got the SX270 for $200 shipping. It has a 2.8GHz P4 with Hyper Threading, 1GB RAM, 40GB HDD, DVD, it also came with Windows XP Pro preinstalled. (Not like it matters) I got the Tview monitor off ebay for $130 shipped. It is used but in perfect condition. I used a Tview in my last install that I bought off a friend for $100 so I know what to expect and they aren’t bad at all. Last I bought the sound card over a year ago for $50 at circuit city I think. I ordered a CNX-P2140 to power it all, that will be here tomorrow. I paid $140 for that shipped. So my grand total at this point in time is…. $470

Yeah a lot of people bash ebay deals, but truth is, as much junk as there really is on ebay, its not all that bad. My old Tview in my Celica stood up to weather from -15F to 110F. Never had any problems with it at all.

I think the best thing about this install is I have a CarPC before I even have a car... Haha I just got a 2003 Eclipse and even though Im driving it around I havent been financed for it yet. Im waiting to here the final news so I can start the fiberglass.
