I decided to use the factory wiring harness to power the m1-atx, and get all my connections to the factory harness.

It was kind of futile, because I had to chop out all of the radio mounts to make room for the 10.4" so there's no way a stereo's going back in there

I'm missing a bunch of pictures, but there was a ton of frabrication.

The middle vents were blocked off with a 1/4" piece of aluminum epoxied to the vent behind the monitor.

I had a hard time figuring out how to fiberglass, but finally, after a little bit of bondo, i'm happy with it. The texture didn't turn out as good as factory, but it's as good as i could get it.

It was pretty cool. I got the touchscreen off a kid on ebay. He had the monitor listed for $100 buck. He said he didn't know if the touchscreen portion worked, and nobody bid on it, so i ended up sending him an e-mail and picking it up for $100 even. Works perfect, looks like new.

This is it up and running. The pictures don't really do it justice.

Guess those highschool autobody classes paid off finally.

And my anti-theft false radio slip in. Got put on hold by the subwoofer project.

The amplifiers were bought off ebay broken for about $20 bucks a piece, and only took some soldering and some new output mosfets to fix. (aspiring electronics student/repairman). the two in the back are Mtx terminator 250/1 subwoofer amps, the front is a 4 channel class ab for the factory speakers.

I'm using two 10" shallow mount subwoofers. Can't really fit anything else behind the seats, and I can't make a box with more than about 1/2 cubic foot per speaker. But, for a single cab truck, it should be more than enough to be a noise nuisance.

But, to make room- here's the jack mount being violently ground/torn out.

                  More to come.

This in one of a handful of projects, so it won't be finished for a while, but I'll update whenever I make some progress.

This is a first build, so 2 are welcome.

That security plate looks fairly complex! Personally I'm making a security plate with a few random connectors on to look like the screens actually been removed like the pic below...

I thought about doing something like that. I just kinda started cutting and grinding, and decided to make it a permanent mount. Shoot me a link when you get started on that, i'd like to see how it goes.

will do, basically I'd make a plate with some raised sections like in the pic, using MDF and then I'd fibreglass it, paint it black then glue the connectors on there.

Easiest way I could think of making it look like it's been removed.

As I wanted a transflective screen I'm only able to get the 7" widescreen unit from Linitx, however for my van install I'm looking at getting something like a 10"+ screen as there's (a) plenty of room in there (b) far less glare & sunlight in the cab compared to a car. Again the chances are I'll be doing the same thing for security or maybe even making it so it can be removed! Being a van I don't mind it looking a little industrial where as the car has to look factory if not better!

Looks great!! Hope my (in progress) Blazer dash comes out half as well. Do you miss the air the center vents put out? On my Blazer they seem to channel more of the air when I'm using the A/C on the top vents than being equally shared by all four.

I'm not missing the center vents too much, because now I just get more pressure out the sides. All and all, I think the AC works just as good as it did before.

Didn't go to Summer Slaughter. Wish I did, heard it was a good one.
