    Hey all,

now after 6 month I like to show you guys my installations on my Nissan Pathfinder 2009

Because all of my installs are written in German, and because I'm to lazy to translate them in detail I'll use

problems please ask and I will descript it as best as I can ...

I hope you Enjoy my Projects:

    2. Kick out Alpine W502R and replace it with in real CAR PC !
    3. Blaupunkt car radio Bremen

    ############################ Car PC #####################################

My Nissan Pathfinder at the beginning

    Alpine W502r

    the installation

    Finish

    2 weeks later

After 2 weeks driving with the Alpine I was disappointed:

    1. Radio reception is really bad! Every few seconds I had failures and
Some channels even a continuous noise. Also, the use of a new external
Antenna (I have window antennas), unfortunately, brought no great improvement.
    2. Ipod integration sucks
    3. The operation is not as easy as I thought. The very small
buttons to use while driving is really already dangerous.
    4. The GUI design leaves a tear in my face ... so unkind ...

But the real knockout criterion was the poor radio reception!
Last week I was totally frustrated, and then got the 1,400 package again taken out of the car.

    3 weeks later

Meanwhile, I have decided to revive me my old dream of a Car PC!
But since I wanted to still have a good radio reception (and I do not always have
Wait 30 sec would be ramped up to the PC) I decided in a car radio, the
Incorporate lower shelf of my car. Currently it is the Blaupunkt Bremen.
After a day's work for me then it looks like this:

    Day 1

Finally, all CarPC parts have arrived! So it can go on the weekend at last!

    Day 2 "The Car PC"
Today I took care of part size to the assembly of the car PC.
Vornan The installation went relatively well. Only a few cables made with little space in which the Voom2
    To create housing.

    Here are some pictures

    Short break strengthen ;-)

    And on we go:

Finally, everything was going and could be installed. I decided to just once for Vista Ultimate. (today I'm using xp)

    Day 3

    Today, I devoted the TFT.
Actually, I just wanted to rebuild an open frame monitor beautiful, but when I learned that it
The rear view camera would not work, I decided for the CTF-700H.
And I had LUCK! The display fits really well into the double din hole! Only at the
Rear climate controls, I had to do something to cut away from the housing.

Then I built a retaining device which is to the existing screws in the console

The buttons by the LCD, I have provided with long cables. This I then on the shelf
    The TFT hidden installed:

In the end, the result can really see!

    Day 4 Installation

Now it was finally set to work!

First, I built the left of my rear seats (my Pathfinder is a 7 seater,
2 jump seats are located in the trunk, but since then my dog takes place, the seats for
    me redundant)

Then I began to pull cable!
Here are my old cable plan (has changed only slightly)

At the end of the day, then it looked like this:

      Day 5

Then the whole cable is connected and as well as he moved. When I have a point mass
a thick body screw resolved there some paint sanded off and the cable attached to it.

Finally, I have installed the screen last.

Battery to ... clamped and clamped into the car ...

AND ... ... turned the key everything went ON !!!!!!!!

And here the preliminary results with my Car PC:

I think the results are very nice and would love to hear your opinions / questions about it.

################################# TomTom Navigation with Garmin holder ########################################

Because I love my Tomtom but I hate cable I had to build an better holder.
I used the Pathfinder Garmin Holder and rebuild it for my Tomtom

################################# CB Wireless in center console ########################################

After I had removed the center console .. I have drilled 1 hole for the cable:

The edges of the columns I have yet quickly taped with black tape, so that there is no dirt collects.

        Result:

The microphone holder I will soon be attached somewhere on the right of the center console ...

I look forward to hearing your thoughts.

                      Good install

Thanks for the pics. I recently bought a 2006 R51, and have been waiting to see if anyone else was doing an install. This has me excited. I took my CarPC out of my Impala when I sold it to by the Pathy and I want it back. I've been thinking about mounting a 1Din Stereo in the bottom compartment like you did. Did you have to cut the plastic to do it, or did it come apart? I really don't want to cut anything for my install if I can avoid it.

I'm sorry but you have to cut a little bit here I have detailed pix of the installation: http://picasaweb.google.com/treki6/P...RadioInAblage#

But it shouldn't be a problem because you can buy this part for about 40 €... so you can easylie exchange it.

                        All the best from germany,
                        Mike

Ps.: MAKE PHOTOS I also want to see some more Pathfinder Installations

I've searched for the part on eBay, etc. I've been looking for salvage yards with R51s, but no luck yet. I'd much rather cut up a spare instead of the original. Any ideas where one could pick up this piece? I guess I could try a Nissan dealer, but my experience is that they want a lot of money for that stuff. Chevrolet wanted $60 for a cup holder in my old car.

I'll definitely take some pics. I don't think my setup will be quite as elaborate, but I hope to document it this time around.

Very, very .. .very cool. Nice install, man. I really like it.

I'm about to do an installation in my nismo 05 frontier, basically the same interior as yours. It's good to see I will be able to get the LCD to fit good without too much fabrication work. I have myself a 12v to 19v power supply for a Acer Aspire 1.6ghz netbook and a EBY701 Lilliput touch screen with LED backlight on the way to get me started.

I'm just going to tap the audio from the computer into the factory rockford fosgate amplifier low-level inputs and make things easy for now.

I just purchased a license for centrafuse 3, I loved version two, good to see you're running it too, its a great piece of software, truly.

I had no luck with local salvage yards. Found one 1000 miles away, but they said I'd have to come up and take it out myself. Yeah, right. So I broke down and bought a new one from Nissan for $60 USD.
