  • 97 Olds Aurora 3.2 Ghz CarPc

Hello everyone I am new to this site, I just want to say thank you to everyone for the vast amounts of info this site contains. Made integration so much easier!

Here is my car, a 1997 Oldsmobile Aurora, I have had the car for around 4 years now.

    My CarPc specs are -

    -Intel Core i3 550 3.2 Ghz
    -Gigabyte H55N-USB3 1333 FSB Dual Channel DDR3
-OCZ 4GB DDR3 PC3-10666 Gold Low voltage dual channel (256 mb shared for video)
-OCZ Vertex 2 E Series 2.5in SATA II Solid State Drive, 60GB
-1.5 TB USB 3 Enclosure (mounted behind rear seat)
-1 TB USB InWin Ammo external hdd with rfid security tag (in glovebox)
-Sound Blaster USB X-fi THX external sound card
    -Toughbox 12v Powered USB Hub
    -Mini-box M4 atx 12 volt DC-DC 250 watt (300 peak) psu
-MCS USB 4 Relay and 4 input contoller (for amps, fans and power antenna)
    -Mini-touch 700 touchscreen

My next add ons will be-

-to get my joycon module to properly interface with the Aurora's steering wheel buttons, works with the key off but not on accessory or power because the Aurora sends 12volts into the resistance line that goes into the stock hu. Time to go swimming under the dash to find that wire
-28mm Rear View CCD Camera with Night Vision LED's (autoswitches at monitor, CarPc can be off)
    -GPS
-OBDLink Wifi Scan Tool - up to 90 real time specs at once, also works with my smartphone
-Andrea's PureAudio USB-SA mic for voice command and bluetooth speaker phone (using cellphones handheld while driving is illegal here)
    - 2 watt wireless N Wifi Usb - used for sailboats for hotspots while docked in harbor, should give me some good range with my camera or anything Im connecting to

Here is the schematic of my wiring -

Let me know what you guys think! Thank you again to everyone for all the info and to Chris at Mo Co So!

Nice setup. I'm loving the light inside. Where did you get the toughbox stuff? I like the look of them

Travis, the wire you are looking for for the Joycon should be:

          Factory 16 PIN Connector:

          E1 [][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][]E16
          F1 [][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][]F16

          Labels & Identification:

          E5-----Light Green----Remote Radio Ctrl Sig.

In the realm of GPS. I am having lots of luck with Garmin Mobile PC and the fact that it embeds in Centrafuse with the plug-in.

Right now I am up in the air for which OBD-II software to use. Testing DashCommand and TouchScan right now. I like Touchscan for the fact that you get a full featured 2 week trial and you can;t test all the DashCommand features. Either way both software seem to work well with the Aurora and my scan tool(Generic 'OBD-II 1.5a').

Keep up the Aurora Modding Bro!

Hey Travis. So hows the setup? Did you end up figuring everything out? I too have an 01 rora that I want to install a joycon in. Did you ever end up finding the wire/proper setup for it? I have a nexus 7 tablet installed in-dash in my car that I want to join up the joycon to. Need to know if there's an aftermarket radio wire harness or something I can buy to easily hook it up. Anyway, any help, advice or tips would be greatly appreciated.

Nice work! What front end are you using and what are you doing to toggle voice command listening on/off?

anyone know where i can find the REMOTE RADIO CONTROL SIGNAL in a 2001 Olds 'rora? its definitely not E5 on the DIM, as my gmrc-04 adapter i have connected has a speaker wire coming out of that spot.
