  • iMercedes (Need Feedback Regarding iPhone Integration w/ OEM Pop-Up Display)

Ok guys, I'm looking for some sort of validation to this concept. Provide suggestions, ideas, possible hurdles, etc. I will be completing this install but I want to make sure I'm doing this in the best possible fashion. Take a look.

Looks like you're off to a start. Here are my comments...I'm no iphone fan or guru so I will do my best here.
    • Doesn't the iphone have built in GPS? That may be less hardware you need.
    • I would avoid the inverter. You may be good just to convert one of your cigarette lighter plugs into a USB port and use that if you need to charge. But I'm sure you wont need to plug it in all the time if your phone is charged.
    • I don't know much about the mimics. I read mix reviews but its a cool concept nonetheless.
    • I believe you also need to purchase and install the software to work with the mimics module.

The iphone will be dedicated to the car and therefore powered by cigarette lighter in the glove. This concernes me when I think about the GPS signal for the iphone.

Good point on getting rid of the inverter. If the mimics can be powered via usb then I'm all for it. Not sure if this cable exists. Any ideas?

And I could be wrong here, but I'm pretty sure the mimics driver is free from Cydia.
