  • My HP Pavilion N5190 / F2025A Laptop Carputer Project

I've done as much searching as I have had time to do this morning, and I just have to come out and ask it. I have a HP Pavilion N5190 Laptop, and the HP F2025A Port Replicator (picture attached) . I was wondering if there were some type of power supply that I could plug my AC adapter into (not an inverter) that works like a Power Supply that folks use for their carputers? If not, anyone have a better suggestion?

well what kinda of power output is your AC adapter? it normaly says it right on the big heavey block. just get a DC/DC with the same specs. make sure to have the same or more amps tho. if you get less amps it will fry

            Well, I got a good mouse: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...tem=5100707770

I got the Deluo GPS receiver yesterday: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...MEWA%3AIT&rd=1

and tested out my GPS setup last night. I put the Deluo on top of my laptop, and walked around my apartment complex, and it works great!!!! I guess next I will try out the routing (point to point that is voice guided!). Now all I really need for my setup is a good vga/lcd screen. I already have 3 RCA screens in my car for my current DVD setup, but the quality of the picture would be **** if I used it with my carputer!

LinuxRacr, I'd strongly encourage you to by some means or another verify your laptop will actually run a lilliput. My HP ZE1210 will not (and i'm not talking about a configuration issue).

can you elaborate what exactly is happening. Is teh laptop just not sending a video signal? or is it something in how the laptop handels output when the laptop screen is closed?

none of the above. The HP (despite configuration) sends a signal out of range for my lilliput and other small LCD screen (10.4"). The HP can output to CRT and most LCDs fine, but it won't with the powers of god output to the lilliput or intecolor
