  • VWMAN's Ride

Ok so after a couple months work my MP3CAR is 99% done.

I still have some work do to do, like some cosmetic touches but here are the specs and some pics.

    VW 92 Jetta

    Epia M10000
    512 MB RAM
    10 GB HD
    Morex case
    PW-70a
    ITPS
    Lilliput 7" TS
    Coyote's MediaCar

    2 Kenwood (150W RMS) 3-way 6x9's
    2 Pioneer 4" (door)
    2 Pioneer 2" tweets
    2 Kenwood 10" (150W RMS)
    1 Keenwood 300W amp
    1 MEI 300W AMP

Like I said other then some cosmetic touches it's almost done except for a power issue that I'm having, when I have the volome above 25% the system will actually loose power momentarly and reboot the puter. With my AMPS my batt and alternator are not always supplying enough juice so I'm thinking a 1 farad CAP will do the trick.

    Here are some pics.

    Tell me what you think.

No, no pics on the mounting yet, but soon.

I did not want to incorpoarte the screen into the dash because my neighborhood is not the safest place to have anything in your car. So I took a tripod, hacked off the top part and monted that to my dash. Then the removable part of the tripod hooks up behind the screen and voila.

As for the puter I had to completely empty the glove box and hack away at the door. Then I fabricated a shelf and screwed the puter on that. If I need to remove the puter i just have 5 screws to remove and the whole thing comes out.

I'm using the Morex 3688, it was the smallest case with case fan I could find.

Great job... who said that mp3s, great sound, and a gps system was only for expensive cars? Keep up the good work.
