      Nice truck man. Why did you completely change your stock CD player? You should just installed the machine in the back of the truck somewhere, and kept your CD changer intact.

      You're install does look nice and clean inside the center console - I'll give you that. Denali's r0k

        Why keep the CD changer when you have 10's of thousands of MP3's on hand? Plus I wanted more of a 'stealthy' look.

          Looks very nice, I like the stealth look too of having where the cd changer is. And why would you need a cd changer when you can have all your cds available?

            Good points. I agree, I actually made my first post before he posted the second set of pics. That is really sweet. Do you have more info on your modded GPS receiver?

                I think I can post a link to the onstar mod - it's not malicious in any way...

                      This is the housing that I bought from digitalww: http://www.digitalww.com/indashhousing.htm
                      There are instructions on his site that walk you through taking apart the lilliput and installing it into this housing... the buttons work and everything! It's really a nice setup.

                          Nice mounting job in the CD changer case. How has the heat buildup been?

                          Also, with the OnStar GPS, I'm sure you'll get good performance...I believe they use Motorola OnCore GPS receivers.

                            The heat buildup surprisingly hasn't been bad. I bought an extra fan that I was planning on using to suck the hot air out of the console but I don't think I'll need it. I've already had it running for 4 hours straight with no issues.

                            The only problem I had with the Onstar GPS is that Windows kept trying to recognize it as a serial mouse. So... in case someone else has this problem in the future, I was able to get it to work by making this change to the registry:

                            [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Servic es\sermouse]
                            "Start"=dword:00000004

                            The NoSerialMouse or NoSerialMice or FastDetect:COM1 all did not resolve the issue.
