  • non in-dash install brushed aluminium

here is what i have so far,I didnt want to lose the factory radio yet.The sound isnt much good but i like the big chunky buttons so i went for this type of setup. Its not up to the standard of some of the glassing experts here but i like it.My truck is an 03 silverado.I still have room for cupholders & 4x4 shifter.im using media car with brushed alum skin screen is set in actual brushed alum, matches phone & maglight.I welcome any comments questions thanks to all who give their time so that we can all have something to be proud of ie programmer hardware & electronic dudes.

Look good, but I wouln't install it like that for one reason, glare. That why I ask, are you haveing any problems with glare, since you have the screen facing up. The sun probably hits the screen directly.

no probs with glare sun needs to be directly overhead to even shine on it.Its not really flat, more like 45 degrees. Pics aint great i know but having my arm on the armrest makes a reall natural angle to use the touchscreen with i will try a diagram

Looks pretty good. When I was shopping for trucks I looked at a couple with no center console and figured if I bought one, I'd do something similar only either with a hinge to have it fold down or create a pull down from there so that when closed the screen would be completely inside the dash instead of always visible. As it turns out, all that planning was for naught since I ended up with a console to mount it in

believe it or not, most of the glare comes from the windshield. It hits the backs of the seats and reflects back to the screen. So I can see why he doesn't have much glare being at that angle.

                    nick, based on the diagram,
1 becareful when you hit the brake it looks like you will pop your tire.
2 you should have a professional remount your tires!

Just Kidding, the install looks great to me! Great idea! What did you use for the sides?

P.S. you might want to bolt down your seats the hover effect looks cool until you start moving!
