Gimme Time... Gimme Time.. that or more money. I work 2 jobs 7 days a week AND go to college. I've been planning for a long time. I just don't have any time to ever get the fabrication work done.

In addition I like the way the "Car-Puter" looks, 'tis ghetoo, however I like it, I've lined the inside of the milk-crate with screen to keep out baddies, and I'm thinking of installing a Black-Light neon and painting the non-volatile internals with UV reactive GITD paint.

Also this is basically a Beta Test. I have already finished the charging system which is the LARGEST hurdle. Now I can devote my efforts to better fabrication & mounting of the PC & LCD's.

AHA! Is that keycorp LCD 'ANY' good in the CarPC environment????

I have one I can lay my hands on immediately - but I didnt know if it was any good. I know it has its own PCI GFX card which is ****e, but does it work OK? DVD's play fine? Visualtions? etc etc.

the majority had ISA however if you look hard enough on ebay you'll find them with PCI.

Well that's just it from the outside when the keyboard is covered up it just looks like a milk-crate w/ wires.. and there's the tinting to help hide it a bit. AND there's the whole BONUS of having the ability to carry the ENTIRE PC inside the house to run diagnostics or to help prevent theft.

It does alright, it's a bit slow on the refresh rate on bootup but once up & running it's alright. I mean ****.. its ONLY 16mb. You get what you pay for. Umm... I'd suggest if you're gonna run the card, gettting a PHAT amount of RAM and working on setting up a V-Ram cache app of sorts.

I got the 10.4" planar and haven't been able to get it to go above 640x480!!!

Thats exactly the news I was looking for.

I already have 1.5GB of RAM (3x512mb) - how would I go about setting up a 'v-ram cache'?? nonono, rephrase, what is a 'v-ram cache'?

Refresh rates on boot dont mean anything anyway! its not like you are doing anything whilst it boots up!!!
