  • 04 Titan Install - Updated Pics

For those of you interested, I was able to find some time and get some much better pics of the head unit and screen I posted about a week ago.

The two pics show the screen up, then down and the last two pics of the truck itself. It is difficult to see because I managed to get the tree right in the line of sight but you can see the two GPS antennas above the brake light.

Damn I want one of those trucks so bad. Can't wait to pay this Altima off so I can buy one to add to my Nissan collection.

Very nice car, and very nice install. The screen just looks so at his place in that dash. Very very fine install.

Thanks Cris. I actually got kind of lucky with the install though. The brackets that were attached to the factory radio (2 din) fit perfectly to my head unit using the default screw locations, I simply had to drill a hole into the screen housing to accomodate a couple of screws, once again using the default screw locations on the bracket.

The only thing left was to space it properly so that it met the face of the bezel. A couple of washers and perfect.

I did however do alot of preparation, planning, measuring and routing wires and such and the install was easy due to it. I can truly say that I am 100% happy with it and enjoying the heck out of it.

Altimat, you've got to drive one of these. It rides like a Cadillac and accellerates like a muscle car. It does however suck alot of gas, small price to pay IMO.

i got the same monitor fold out deal. just as a warning, you want to keep the screen out as much as possible. popping the screen day in and out will require you to check the spring every once in a while.

also, my DIN plug went bad on mine. just a few things to look out for.

You can get the monitor in the in-dash housing from digitallww.com. Since you only have 3 posts you may not know of this site but you will find that MANY people from here have used Armen at Digital World Wide as a valuable resource.

              Kandy,

Good advice. I have not had an issues with the spring yet but I will tell you that I am always very careful with sliding it in and out because I am always afraid I am going to clip the wire if it is not positioned correctly.

I did however have some issues with the hot glue that was used to secure things inside of the monitor housing itself. It seems as if the hot glue did not like the fact that I use my vehicle off-road and it broke up causing the screen to tilt to the lower left.

I opened up the housing and replaced the hot-glue holding the actual acreen with cladding tape that I balled up. Clad tape is similar to double sided tape except that it is pure sticky, not sticky applied to both sides of a piece of paper or fabric. Since Clad tape can be balled up it now acts like a shock between the screen and housing, nice little benefit for guys like me.
